Vatican Obelisk

Vatican Obelisk.

In 1586, the Italian engineer Domenico Fontana moved an Egyptian obelisk to its present site in front of the Vatican in St. Peter’s Square. The obelisk, quarried in Egypt during the 13th century BC, was brought to Rome in the 1st century.  It remained in position until Pope Sixtus V, as part of his plan to continue the construction of St. Peter’s and make it one of the world’s truly spectacular buildings, recommended moving the obelisk 275 yards from its original Roman site to the featured location in front of the Vatican.

Fontana’s plan for moving the obelisk was chosen from among hundreds of others. It relied heavily on pulleys, some as large as five feet in length, to lift the obelisk off its base and then lower it to a horizontal position by pivoting it on its lower end. Five huge levers, each 51 feet long, were used to help lift the shaft off the base. A variety of pulley blocks were required to work in conjunction with the 40 winches, each of which were powered with horses and men to supply the main lifting force. It took Fontana one year to complete the task. On September 28, 1586, the scaffolding and tower had been removed. The obelisk appeared in full view, in the same position as it appears today more than 400 years later.

Richard Dawkins: I will arrest Pope Benedict XVI -Times Online.

    Atheist campaigner Richard Dawkins

RICHARD DAWKINS, the atheist campaigner, is planning a legal ambush to have the Pope arrested during his state visit to Britain “for crimes against humanity”.

Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, have asked human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging Pope Benedict XVI over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.

The pair believe they can exploit the same legal principle used to arrest Augusto Pinochet, the late Chilean dictator, when he visited Britain in 1998.

The Pope was embroiled in new controversy this weekend over a letter he signed arguing that the “good of the universal church” should be considered against the defrocking of an American priest who committed sex offences against two boys. It was dated 1985, when he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which deals with sex abuse cases.

Pope ‘failed to act’ on US sex abuse claims

    London Times | Mar 25, 2010

    by Anne Barrowclough

The sex abuse scandal enveloping the Catholic Church moved closer to Pope Benedict XVI today with revelations that in the 1990s the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger failed to defrock an American priest who molested hundreds of deaf boys, despite receiving letters from a number of American bishops pleading with him to act.

Caption from a photo published in 1958 prior to the Conclave of Pope Pius XII: “Pigeon perches on Cardinal’s Cap – Genoa, Italy – Giuseppe Cardinal Siri, Archbishop of Genoa, remained unperturbed when a pigeon perched on his cap as he celebrated Mass in the arena of the Orfei Circus here. The pigeon was one of a flock released in tribute to the Cardinal. The Mass, said on an altar set up in the center ring of the Big Top, was attended by circus entertainers and a crowd of Genoese.”

The words “pigeon” and “dove” are synonymous. Siri’s dove was white. The dove landing on a papabile has always been understood to be the indication of the choice of the Holy Spirit to be Pope.  According to a knowledgeable Italian priest who had conferred with Cardinal Siri, this conservative bloc was actually successful in electing Siri on the fourth ballot of the first day of the conclave, October 26, 1958, which is the feast day of Pope and martyr, Saint Evaristus, the fifth Pope of the Church. Siri, who was the fifth Pope elected this century, is said to have promptly accepted the office and announced that he would take the name “Gregory XVII.” Then, a shrill storm of protest was heard from the reformers, who jumped to their feet to intimidate the new Pope with the threat that they would immediately establish an international schismatic church, were he to emerge from the conclave as pope. Badly shaken, Siri is supposed to have replied: “if you do not want me, then elect someone else” By this one statement, which was taken as his abdication, would come the apocalyptic catastrophe that so quickly engulfed the Church.

The Gospel According To Saint Paul

Ron Paul and Freemasonry « Aftermath News. Ron Paul and Freemasonry April 22, 2008 · 863 Comments

    ron-paul-g-town-masonic
Ron Paul speaking at Georgetown Jesuit University, alma mater of Carroll Quigley and Bill Clinton. Note the Freemasonic symbols on the wall behind him.

I know this is a taboo subject among Ron Paul supporters, of which I was one myself in the very beginning of his presidential campaign. And even if it is proven beyond any doubt that he is a freemason, many will just put it aside and pretend it doesn’t matter “because he is such a decent and honest man” etc. But many others are very curious to know what RP’s status is regarding Freemasonry because it does matter, and I fully intend to find out myself. Therefore, it is high time we started talking openly about it and try to ascertain the truth, one way or another.

I just happened to stumble across this comment over at the Daily Paul yesterday, and thought that I should share it with whoever is interested in knowing whether or not Ron Paul is a Freemason.

This does not prove anything in that regard, however it makes the probability that he is a Freemason very much higher since Eastern Star members are generally married to Freemason husbands, Rainbow girls are generally children of masons and because Ron Paul’s father was also a mason. And in addition, according to the comment, he “respects the organization”, which is wholly uncharacteristic of anyone who is supposedly fighting against the masonically-inspired New World Order. Ron Paul is also an unofficial member of the John Birch Society, which was founded by masons, funded by Nelson Rockefeller and run by Jesuit-trained Knights of Malta. In other words, the JBS is a gatekeeper organization, designed to control the opposition and make sure nothing substantial is ever done to impede the New World Order system which just keeps on rolling over humanity. How about the Jahbulon Bullshit Society for a more appropriate name?

    Exorcisms On the Rise

    PAUL BURNELL

In a world where Satanists appear on prime-time TV, neo-pagan religions gather vast followings and tarot card readings are available in the newspapers, experts say it’s no surprise that the number of exorcisms worldwide is rising.

What does it take to become an exorcist, and what would you need to learn? Says Father Giulio Savoldi, who has been Milan’s official exorcist for more than two decades:

“I would include the supernatural force–the presence of God–and then suggest that the man picked to do this kind of work be wise and that he should know how to gather strength not just from within himself but from God. Because each case of possession is different, each person possessed is different. Those studying to become exorcists should also study psychology and know how to distinguish between a mental illness and a possession. And–finally–they need to be very patient.”
